1° Workshop  Aortic Valve Neocuspidization

Aortic valve disease in young patients still represents an unresolved  clinical challenge. Current surgical options, such as replacement with  echanical or biological prostheses, present significant limitations in
terms of durability, the need for anticoagulation, and long-term quality of life.

In this context, innovative techniques such as aortic neocuspidization according to Ozaki, which involves the reconstruction of the aortic  valve with autologous pericardium treated with glutaraldehyde, are
emerging.

This method, introduced with the aim of offering a durable,  biocompatible solution without the need for anticoagulant therapy, is  gaining increasing interest, especially for younger or pediatric patients.
